είμαι θετικό πρότυπο για το παιδί μου και θα ενθαρρύνω το Ευ Αγωνίζεστε,
δείχνοντας σεβασμό σε όλους τους παίκτες, προπονητές, διαιτητές σε κάθε αγώνα ή
προπόνηση."
Ποιός θα φανταζόταν πριν 2 εβδομάδες όταν
προκηρύσσονταν το Κύπελλο Ελλάδος της Ελληνικής Ομοσπονδίας Μπέιζμπολ, οι
πατεράδες LIONS θα εφάρμοζαν τον Κώδικα κατά λέξη?!!
Πήραν τα παιδιά τους, τα μεγαλύτερα με δικαίωμα
συμμετοχής, βάλανε τα αθλητικά τους, τις LIONS μπλούζες, βάλανε τα κράνη, χτύπησαν
ρόπαλο, έτρεξαν, έμαθαν και έζησαν τους
κανόνες , τους αγώνες, ίδρωσαν,........ ΔΙΠΛΑ και ΜΑΖΙ με τα παιδιά τους.
Τι και αν ο ανύπαρκτος πίνακας του σκορ μίλαγε για
ήττα, οι μπαμπάδες LIONS είναι νικητές. Κέρδισαν γιατί έπαιξαν με τα παιδιά
τους. Κέρδισαν τον σεβασμό των
αντιπάλων, όχι από όλους , αλλά αυτών που το αξίζουν. Καλό θα ήταν οι άλλες
ομάδες να σκεφτούν , αν μην τι άλλο , τι μέλλον έχει το μεράκι τους με το όνομα
μπέιζμπολ και που είναι τα παιδιά τους όταν αυτοί βρίσκονται στο γήπεδο.
Οι πατεράδες LIONS απλά δεν έχουν αντίπαλο. Ήταν,
είναι και θα είναι εκεί....δίπλα στο παιδί τους.
One
of the documents a LIONS parent is asked to sign , with its registration form
in the team, is the "Athletic Parent behavior Code". At some point it
states:
"
I will be a positive example for my child and will encourage fair play, showing
respect to our players, coaches, referees at each match and practice."
Who could imagine 2 weeks ago when the Greek
Baseball Federation announced the organization of the Greek Baseball Cup, that
LION Dads will apply the above code to the letter?!!
They
took their kids, the older ones who could participate, put on their sport
costumes, the LIONS jerseys, the helmets, they batted, they ran, learned the
lived the baseball rules and games, they sweat, ..... BESIDE and TOGETHER with
their kids.
What
if the inexistent scoreboard mentioned game loss, LIONS Dads are winners. They
won because they played with their kids. They won opponents respect, not from
all them, but from the ones deserving it. It could be a good idea for the other
teams to start thinking what the future of their beloved sport named baseball
could be and where their kids are when they are on the field for a match.
LIONS
Dad have simply no opponent. They were, are and will be there.....next to their
kid.
